The Story of Bella Ciao

The story of Bella Ciao began in May 2000, under a different name but with the same heart. At the time, the restaurant was called Da Pierino, a small bistro-brasserie created by Pierino and his wife Agnieszka. Their vision was simple and sincere: to offer accessible, generous cuisine and to create a place where people feel welcome and at home.

Pierino, deeply passionate about cooking and human connection, found as much joy in the kitchen as in welcoming guests. His elegant extraversion, warmth, and desire to share his know-how quickly gave the restaurant its soul. Da Pierino was never just a restaurant, but a meeting place.

In 2017, Pierino’s illness marked a first difficult turning point. Then came 2020, with the health crisis and the challenging years of recovery that followed. These trials strengthened the family bond and their determination to continue.

In 2019, the restaurant changed its name and became Bella Ciao. This new chapter followed administrative changes and was inspired by the renewed popularity of the song Bella Ciao, a symbol of transmission and renewal.

Today, Bella Ciao is a family-run restaurant led by Dominique, the main manager, Agnieszka, general manager, and Lorenzo, who actively supports the daily operations. Pierino remains a central figure as an advisor and ambassador, present through his contact with guests, where his unique personality continues to leave a lasting impression.

The cuisine remains rooted in traditional Italian family cooking, while evolving toward a more modern approach. Among the signature dishes are the fresh allo scoglio pasta, made famous by Pierino, served under foil and flambéed at the table, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the house: generosity, authenticity, and a sense of spectacle.

At Bella Ciao, the choice of quality ingredients is a matter of conviction, not marketing. Every dish is prepared with care to offer consistent pleasure. The atmosphere remains family-oriented, warm, and welcoming, a philosophy shared by the entire team.

The goal is to continue evolving, modernizing the restaurant while guiding guests through this journey. More than an Italian restaurant, Bella Ciao aims to become a second home, a place where people feel comfortable and always welcome.
